The men’s trophy of Minigolf European Championships, which has been passing from winner to winner since 1959, spent two days in secret and unknown places in Tampere.

After the closing ceremony of European Championships 2008, as the rotating auditorium turned away from the medal podiums, and everyone went to the dinner tables... the trophy was left on the medal podium. Alone. Overnight.

On Sunday the organizers realized that nobody had taken care of the trophy, and they hurried to the medal podiums, behind the auditorium of the summer theater. But the place was empty, and the trophy was gone.

After searching in all possible places for two days, the trophy was finally found in the closet of maintenance workers who clean the floors of the summer theater. They routinely collect away old tins and cans left by spectators in the auditorium.
